We drove up to Idyllwild thru Anza, an area I think would be a good place to spend some time.  Idyllwild has grown quite a bit, but still retains it's small mountain village atmosphere.  It is the home of Tahquitz Rock and Suicide Rock, some of the best rock climbing in  the US. These are reached by a traihead at Humber Park, which requires a Forest Adventure Pass, $5/day $30/yr, or as I found out the Golden Age Pass, which was back in the motorhome.  It was warm and sunny and we climbed about half way to the base of Tahquitz Rock where we had  a good view and had lunch and took pictures.  This is the setting for Helen Hunt Jackson's book Ramona. We went back into Idyllwild and checked out the shops.  One little shop sold more than 100 different soft drinks.  I had a Bulldog rootbeer, it was good.  Cathy bought some blueberry muffin tea, the shop was giving out free samples and we really enjoyed it.  We went to church at the Queen of Angels Catholic church, one of many quaint churches in Idyllwild.  We went back by way of Hemet, and stopped at Target in Temecula for some essentials, including marinade for the steaks which I grilled later along with corn on the cob.  We watched "Lost in America".  Cathy was stepping out the door to go to the laundry when she saw a Lynx in front of our motorhome.  He slowly strolled down the street.  Cathy reluctantly went to the laundry and then walked Snoopy.
