We got up early, took showers and headed to the casino for 2 for one buffet breakfast, $3.99 for both of us. The showers were the best of the whole trip, with individual rooms and heaters. Walmart was on the way out of town, so stopped for some things. It was a Super Walmart and up to our standards. We got to Death Valley Junction and saw the Opera House and hotel. There was a huge abandoned garage building. We drove on to Death Valley National Park and the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. The visitor center had a nice museum. We decided to go to Scotty's Castle. It was well worth the trip. We traveled the length of Death Valley south to north and saw the lake bed and Panamint mountains with snow. Scotty's Castle was impressive. We took two tours. The first was of the house interior and every thing was as it was in 1939 and the guide was dressed as a guide in 1939. In 1939 the tour cost $1.25, now it costs $11 or $9 if you ar 62 or older. We also took the tunnel tour to see the water generator, diesel generator and the tiles for the tunnels and the "lake" which was never completed. We got back to the motorhome about 7:30 PM and went to the casino for the $7.95 T-bone steak dinner. It was very good.
