We got an early, 8:30 AM start and left Innsbruck for Zermatt, Switzerland.  We crossed two very high passes with many severe switchbacks and steep grades and went thru a lot of tunnels, including one that was 15 km long.  Got to Tasch about 5:00 PM.  We saw a campground on the way in, but had heard that there was one across from the train station.  There was a lot of construction and I didn't see a place to park, so we went back to the campground outside of town.  Cathy asked if there was another camp ground and they said no.  We set up camp and headed for the train station.  It was about 2 km.  We got on the train and on the way out of town we saw the other campground.  Got to Zermatt and it had changed a lot in 45 years.  They now have buses and taxis and streets.  They have many huge hotels now.  We couldn't see the Matterhorn because of clouds. We found a nice restaurant and had cheese fondue.  It was good and we had a good conversation with a man from Toronto, who was there to do hiking.  He was originally from Iran, but educated in US.  We took the train back to Tasch about 10:10 PM and then walked back to the motorhome in rain.  When we woke up this moring we had about 4" of snow.  Got going about 8:30 AM and went to Visp to a Carrefour to buy some things, then headed for Lausanne.  Rained all the way.  Stopped at the Chateau de Chillon in Montreux and had sandwiches in the motorhome.  Toured the chateau and went to Lausanne where we are camped at Camping de Vidy.  Lausanne is where I went to school 45 years ago.  I think Gary and I stayed at this same campground in a tent the first two days in town.  The Internet connection here isn't grat either, but is expensive.  We are right on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva).  We will go quite a ways into Germany tomorrow.  Wednesday is out last night in the motorhome.
