We left Wichita at 9:30 AM and headed west on US54.  We went thru Greensburg, KS which was totally destroyed by a tornado.  They have a "Portable Hospital", made out of tents and mobile buildings.  There are a lot of mobile office buildings.  The day was perfect except for a very strong wind out of the SE.  We cut across narrow strips of Oklahoma and Texas and hit I40 at Tucumcari, NM.  Filled with gas at a new Flying-J and Cathy picked up several books on tape that were on sale.  Probably won't get to Quartzsite until Tuesday.  We are staying at the Santa Rosa Campground.  It is owned by a man from Williston that graduated from UND.  A lot of the Michael McGarrity, novels featuring, Kevin Kerney, a policeman in New Mexico, take place in Santa Rosa.  It is freezing here tonight, so the water is off.  Hope to fill in the morning.
