We took off this morning and went to
Los Algodones, Baja California, Mexico. It is the dental center of the world. There are over 450 dentists there. We parked o the road just north of the border crossing and walked across. We parked about 1/2 mile north of the border and walked across with a man who was on his way to have a tooth fixed. We followed him to the dentist's office and he introduced us to the dentist who showed us his office. Very modern and up to date. Both he and his wife are dentists. We saw many other dentist offices, pharmacies and optical offices. A crown is $130 and implants are $900. Glasses are $20 for regular, $30 for bifocal and $40 for progressive no-line. Drugas are less tha 1/3 US cost. I pay $90 copay for 90 Lipitor. A bottle of 100 is $26.75. We went thru the 4 block square business district and then headed back to the border, a 2 hour wait in line. We met a very nice Korean couple in line and talked to them for the two hours. he was there for dental work and they had driven down this morning from Phoenix. They have houses in Phoenix and Tuscon. Got back to the campsite just in time for Happy Hour.
