We took a short side trip at New Iberia to
Avery Island, home of Tabasco Sauce. We took the factory tour and then went to the Country Store for samples. I sampled a raspberry chipotle they are testing, it was tasty. I also tried Sweet & Spicy Ice Cream, Jalapeno Ice Cream and Tabasco Soda Pop. We got to Bayou Segnette State park at 3:30 PM. It is a beautiful park with all new RV sites, free laundry and free WiFi. At about 6:00 PM we drove to Algiers and took the ferry to New Orleans. We walked down Canal Street then walked thru the French Quarter for awhile, bought transit passes for tomorrow and then had dinner at Mulate's Cajun Restaurant on Julia Street. I had Cajun Hamburger Steak and
Dixie Jazz Amber Light beer, which is brewed in New Orleans. Took the ferry back to Algiers then drove back to park and had to find the backway in, as the main entrance gets locked at 9:00 PM. They gave us the combination to the back gate. We got back to the motorhome and Snoopy without incident.
