Today we left the campground at 9:30 AM and drove about 90 miles to
Red Bay, Alabama, home of
Tiffin Motorhomes. We took the plant tour and had Red as our tour guide. You walk thru all the lines and can stop and look at anything you want. They make start 26 motorhomes per day and they take 27 days to complete. They have been making motorhome since 1972. They were the first with a basement (1986) and the first with a slide (1992). We are camped at the
Allegro Campground, where the service bays are. They have 100 sites with full hookups and a big dry camping area. We are in the dry camping area and it is free. If a hookup site would have been available, it would have been $10. We went out to Swamp Johns for dinner, but it was already closed at 8:00 PM. We ended up getting BBQ sandwiches and onion rings at the Cardinal Drive-in. The weather was perfect today, 71 degrees and sunny. It is still warm tonight.
