We are finally on the road again.  We had to keep waiting for a good window of weather to get to Arizona from Buxton.  We left Tuesday the 28th of January at 7:40 PM.  We drove to Bismarck and spent the night at the Cracker Barrel.  Go up in the morning and had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel and took off.  When we went to bed it was about -2 degrees, it was in the 20's when we got up.  We had a beautiful day for driving except for the 20 to 30 mph wind.  We got to Spearfish, SD right after a small snow storm.  We had snow and ice all the way to Gillette, WY.  I didn't want to drive on the snow and ice after dark, so we stopped for gas at  Flying J and asked where the Walmart was.  It was practically next door and on Hwy 59, which we wanted to leave Gillette on.  I had taken the first exit thinking it was the one Walmart would be on, wrong.  Had to drive about 5 or 6 miles before I could turn around.

Wednesday was a good driving day, ice for about 60 to 70 miles out of Gillette and then perfect roads.  We had a clear day, but 30 to 40 mph winds.    We stopped at Independence Rock for a break and lunch. There were a lot of ruts in the asphalt from Rawlins to Rock Springs, WY.  We got to Evanston, WY at about 8:00 PM and spent the night at the Walmart.  There was a Sonic drive-in right next to Walmart, so I picked up breakfast sandwiches and coffee.  We had a beautiful drive thru Utah and it was finally calm.  The motor home had handled perfectly, with easy one handed driving, even in the wind and ruts.  Between Cedar City and St. George, UT, it started acting squirelly.  It dawned on me it must be the air pressure as I had topped them off below zero and it was now in the 60's.  We planned on stopping at the Casa Blanca Casino RV park in Mequite, but they couldn't confirm how long their pull thru spaces were and I didn't wanted to unhook.  We decided to stay at Walmart again.  We got an early 6:00 AM start and had a good drive thru Las Vegas, NV, Needles, CA, Lake Havasu and Parker, AZ.  We got to Quartzsite at about 2:00 PM and went to the RV Pitstop and filled with water for $3.00.  We found a spot at the west end of the BLM Dome Rock Mountain disperesed camping area.  Got every thing set up except the satellite dish.  Today I'm thinking one mountain may be blocking the signal.  The antenna is workng well so we are watching  the Super Bowl.  We spent Sunday checking out the vendors at The Main Event, Rice Ranch and Tyson Wells.  Today was the last day for most of them.  Picked up a 6 pack of Dos Equis at the Road Runner Market and am drinking that and watching the Super Bowl while I write this.

Cathy put a roast in the crock pot and it cooked all day on solar power.  It is ready now so we will have roast beef, corn, mashed potatos with gravy and salad.
