Another warm day, slightly over cast in the morning, but it burned off to a clear day. We had a pot luck breakfast, with a lot of choices. At 10:00 AM we went over to the
Coachella Wild Bird Center. Linda Lord started it and she and her husband built every thing. Every thing is done by volunteers. It is a rehabilitation center for wild birds. There are a few birds that have stayed including a horned owl named Bud and a heron, that comes and goes. He is named Freddie the Free Loader, because he shows up for free meals. Bud stays in a tree behind the office and is used to train owl babies. There was a raven that had had his tail feathers clipped and they were waiting for them to grow out before releasing him. There are also some snakes and lizards that Linda has liked since she was a young girl. During the day, Denis and I worked on installing Marlene's inverter. We got the wire pulled and will finish in the morning. There was a business meeting of the WIT High Desert Ridge Runners at 2:00 PM. After the meeting we had root beer floats. We had a pot luck dinner of appetizers at 5:00 PM. The fair was well attended and the parking lot is near full.
