Another beautiful day. A little cooler, 80 degrees, sunny and no wind. We left at 8:30 AM for Ogilby Road. We took the Indian Pass Trail around the north side of Picacho Peak, which is in the California Picacho Recreation Area. The first thing we saw was a
Quechan Indian Ceremonial Ground. Next we stopped at an old tourqoise mine. We walked up to it and picked up some rocks. Next we stopped in a box canyon that had a couple water pools and had lunch. After lunch we continued on till we got to the Colorado River. Here we found a monument to a dog named Lonesome. There is a US Flag flying over the monument made of rocks and a registry to sign. He asks that you add a rock to the monument.. There are a couple of Water Way rest stops along the Colorado River with picknic shelters and rest rooms. One is right below the dog monument. We continued on to Picacho Recreation Area Campground. We then took the campground road out of the Recreation Area and it joined S24 just west of Bard. We went about 80 miles off road. We stopped at the post office and picked up our mail. We got back to the campsite about 3:30 PM. We went over to Lynn and Sandy's for Happy Hour. After Happy Hour I helped Bob set up his DTV converter. When Lynn heard about that, he asked if I would help him with his. We then installed Lynns. Added our extra 6 gallons of water to the fresh water tank. Will dump some of the gray water tomorrow with the Blue Boy, also get another 6 gallons of water for the fresh water tank. We had left over Spanish Rice from Tuesday's dinner and a lettuce salad. Finished off with butter pecan ice cream.
