We hated to leave Mayberry.  The views were great, the nice autumn smells and friendly people were hard to leave.  Our neighbors last night had two rat terriers, a 5 year old female named Chula and a 2 year old male named Max.  They were really something.  We finally got out of the park about 1:15 PM.  My only criticism of the park was lack of hooks in the shower stalls, every thing else was perfect.  The owner is a fourth generation relative of the original Siamese Twins, Eng and Chang Bunker.  The original house the twins lived in is still there in the RV park and filled with memorabilia.  They will show you the house if you ask.  There is also a museum dedicated to the twins in the Andy Griffith Playhouse in Mt. Airy.  The twins are buried just a short distance from the Maybery RV Park in the cemetary of a church the twins financed and helped build.  The twins each also had a house in Mt. Airy.  Both twins were married and they would spend three nights in a row in each house.

We started this morning  in North Carolina, drove thru Virginia, the NE tip of West Virginia, the NW edge of Maryland and are now spending the night at Keystone RV at Exit 1 of I81 in Pennsylvania.  It was a beautiful drive thru the mountains with nice farms and fall foliage the whole way.  The day was in the 70's, clear and very little wind.  Got to Keystone RV about 9:00 PM and had a hard time opening the combination lock on the gate, Cathy finally got it and we are settled in for the night.  Met a man from near Kingston, Ontario who has spent 11 days getting here because of troubles with his 42' diesel pusher with 6,000 miles on it.  Allison transmission problems that no one seems able to fix.  He traded it in on a 30' gas Class A with a Ford chassis.  He is on his way to San Jose to visit his brother.
