We had a day that started out cloudy and raining. The overnight low was 56 degrees and the high today was 60 degrees. We headed out to the
North Dakota Picnic in Mesa at about 11:30 AM. It was being held at Pioneer park on Main St. There were probably 200 to 300 people there trying to stay out of the rain in the two small shelters. I just walked in and the first person I saw was one of the engineers who designs for HTC. He is from Hillsboro. He was the only person I knew. Anne Carlson School had a display there and was sponsored by Unison Bank of Jamestown. Cathy talked to a Anne Carlson School board of directors member explaining about how David was in there day program and had used services in Jamestown as he was growing up. Brekke Travel had a display and the person running it was a PT therapist that had worked with David after his back fusion. Cathy and I both talked to Marlo from Pride of Dakota about the WIT GNR. He will provide us with some things for door prizes. Alerus Financial and the Village also had dispays. Alerus has been the major sponsor of the event and this is its 44th year. We then went to IKIA for $1 meatball dinners. Cathy had a piece of cake and that quadrupled her dinner to $4. We spent the afternoon getting ideas for the motor home and house. I picked up some inexpensive LED lights. Across from IKIA we saw
Total Wine and stopped in. It was the largest liquor store I have ever been in. They have prices better than Walmart with several wines in my price range, less than $4. Picked up some Harp Lager for St Patrick;s Day. We watched the Academy Awards for evening entertainment.
