'Another nice day. Over night low was 55 degrees and the high today was 83 degrees. We decided to go to a Latin Mass in north Phoenix. It was at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. We took the 202 Freeway from Mc Lintock and got there in about 20 minutes. Traffic was light. It is a very nice church and is much the same as the Cathedral in Bismarck on the inside. Mass lasted exactly 1 1/2 hrs. Every thing was just like it was 50 years ago. Women wore head coverings and there was no "sign of peace" with physical contact. The choir and organ were really good. Communicants lined up in front of the altar and the priest dispensed communion from one side to the other, there was no wine. After Mass I was tempted to take McDowell back, but was anxious to get to the Golden Corral for dinner. I took the 202 Freeway east and it was a big mistake because of the construction. We stopped to walk and feed Snoopy. While we were in the motor home we felt and earth quake. I was just south of Mexicali in Baja California. It was a 7.2. We got to the Golden Corral between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. There were lots of parking spaces, so I commented that we must have gotten there at the right time. I was wrong again as there were a lot of people lined up inside. We filled up on good food and then returned to the motor home, stopping at Basha's on the way for ice cream.
