Awoke to a perfect morning in Lordsburg, NM at the Flying J RV parking where we spent the night. The over night low was 45 degrees. Cathy started training for a new test this morning, but ran out of paper printing out the instructions, so we had to drive to Deming, NM to the Walmart. When we left Deming at 12:00 Noon it was 71 degrees. We went through El Paso at about 3:00 PM and it was 80 degrees. We took the LP-375 By-pass through Franklin Mountain to US-62/US-180 to get to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. the grades are steep, 8% and more, but you by-pass the El Paso traffic. We drove for almost 150 miles with no towns and very few houses. The scenery was pretty and the Gruadalupe Mountains were especially nice. We stopped at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park Visitor Center Guadalupe Mountains National Park Visitor Center. It was closed but we walked around on the self guided trails. took a lot of pictures. We are spending the night at the Walmart in Carlsbad, NM. Cell phone service has been almost non existent since we left El Paso, but it is fast here. Cathy is busy training to score another test.
