Awoke to a nice morning, a little cool and partly cloudy. Put the hitch and tow lights on the Jeep. Cleaned the windshield, dumped the garbage and holding tanks and got on out way at 10:50am.
Bernardo Winery was 87 miles according to the GPS. We stopped at a view point about 2/3 of the way on I-5 to walk Snoopy and take some pictures. It was a pretty view.

Shortly before we got to this view point, Cathy got a call that her brother in law Merlin had passed away at 10:00am. This greatly changes our plans.
We got to the Bernardo Winery at 1:00pm. We went to the Cafe Merlot and had a great lunch. After lunch, Kathryn and I did some wine tasting. We met a man named Steve who was from Manhattan and was visiting his sister, just a couple bocks walk from the Winery.

The Bernardo Winery is the oldest continuously operating winery in California, sine 1889.
About 6:00pm we drove to the Trader Joe's in Poway to pick up a few things.
Weather in Escondido today was party cloudy with a high of 59 degrees with wind from 5 mph to 15 mph and gusting to 18 mph. The over night low in Anaheim was 46 degrees.
