| Another nice day. The over night low was 50 degrees again. The high today was 68 degrees. Cathy walked around and met some of the people here in the park. I was watching Nascar on TV. The las Vegas race was rain delayed. At 3:30 PM we left for church at St Daniel the Prophet church in Scottsdale. Michael John Poirier was there to conduct a mission today and tomorrow. He is a Catholic song writer, singer and speaker. He has 17 CDs out. After mass I finished watching the race. We then went to a Ci Ci's Pizza Buffet in Phoenix on Thomas Blvd. It was a good meal. Cathy ordered a special pizza. They are having a 25th anniversary special of $3.99 for all you can eat. Normally it is $4.99. After dinner we stopped at a CVS and the 99 cent store. About 10:15 PM it started raining.

| Another nice day. The over night low was 47 degrees and the high today was 67 degrees. Went to my second treatment at 8:30 AM. The traffic was light and we made it in 20 minutes. The sewer here was meant for a permanent connection and is horizontal, so I need a 3" female pipe to 3" RV bayonet adapter, which I don't have. Checked out the RV parts places on Apache Blvd/Main Street in Tempe and Mesa. None of them had one, so I ordered one from the closest, Arizona RV. It will be here Monday morning. We then checked out the near by shopping centers. Tricity Pavilion is the closest, but there isn't much left there. It does have a nice Safeway and several places to eat. The next one we checked was Tempe Market Place. There is a Best Buy there. The next one we checked was Mesa Riverview. It has just about every thing including a Walmart. All three of them are within a 5 minute drive.

| A really beautiful morning. Sunny and no wind. The over night low was 51 degrees. At 9:00 AM it was 59 degrees. Bob and Helen, Dennis and Andy and Lynn and Sandy were going on an off road trip to Hidden Canyon that written up in the Yuma paper. Three other vehicles were going with them. The canyon is so narrow that you have to run one sides wheels on the wall of the canyon to get thru. We were done saying good-bye to every one and on our way by 9:30 AM. We stopped in Quartzsite at the Pilot station for gas, $2.69 gal and RV Pit Stop for propane, $2.55 gal. A lot of people still on the BLM land, but not many vendors left at the flea markets. We got to SW Oncology Centers at 2:30 PM. My appointment was for 3:00 PM, so waited in the motor home until 2:45 PM. Didn't get called until 3:50 PM. They did a quick CT Scan and then gave me a 5 minute radiation treatment. I will go Friday morning at 8:30 AM and again at 8:30 AM on Monday. From then on it will be at 10:00 AM. We found an RV park in Tempe. It is the Tempe Travel Trailer Villa and is pretty nice. We are right next to the office and swimming pool. There is a police station less than a block away. The Metro station is right next door. It is 6 or 7 miles from the clinic, with only 4 turns. The high temperature in Scottsdale/Tempe today was 71 degrees.

| The day started out cloudy. The over night low was 44 degrees and the high was 71 degrees. The sun came out and the afternoon was beautiful. At 2:00 PM we took a trip up Cistern Road, BLM 727 trail, to look at ocotillos that were blooming. We got to a place where some one had spelled out "HI CHOPPERS" with rocks where the army helicopters fly over. The views on the trail were nice and the ocotillos were real green with pretty blossoms. We stopped at an old turquoise mine at the top of a steep hill. Some of the washes were tricky to cross and the hill up and down from the mine was steep and twisty. We returned on Ferguson Road. I went for mail when we got back and when I returned to camp went to Happy Hour at Jack and Millies. We had a camp fire and it was a beautiful evening. Quite a few stayed until quite late. We met friends of Bob and Doris, Rob and Lorrie who came into day. I got back from the camp fire at 9:00 and watched the Olympics.

| The day started sunny and cool. The over night low was 47 degrees and the high today was 65 degrees. We went into Yuma and Cathy got a haircut at Cost Cutters next to the Walmart on Pacific Avenue. We stopped for mail in Bard on the way back, but there wasn't any. We had a campfire at Happy Hour and stayed and roasted hot dogs on the fire. This was the first campfire we've had for several days because of the wind. By 7:00 PM everyone had left the fire except me. They either went to watch TV or because they were cold. Bill came back shortly as NCIS was a repeat. Bill and I stayed until 8:30 PM when Lana yelled at Bill that the propane had run out on their heater. Bill went to change the tank and I went to watch the Olympics.

| Cloudy and windy this morning. The over night low was 55 degrees and the high today was 66 degrees. The wind was between 15 and 23 mph most of the day with gusts to 32 mph. We had to pull in the slide out. Happy Hour at Bob and Helens. Got a call from SW Oncology Centers at 4:45 PM, my first treatment will be Thursday at 3:00 PM. Took the garbage up to the dump via Ferguson Road. Watched the Ice Dancing at the Olympics on TV.

| We had a nice suny morning. The over night low was 52 degrees and the high today was 67 degrees. We went to church with Andy at the YPG chapel. After church we went in to the flea market at Arizona Market Place on 4E. Cathy hadn't finished going thru the whole thing. We had a toasted pannini ham sandwich at the food court. David Bradley, formerly with the "Sons of the Pioneers" was the entertainment. He sang several cowboy classics with yodeling while we ate. We then stopped at Walmart for a few things and got back to the motor home about halfway through the Nascar Sprint Cup Fontana Race. I watched the race and Cathy went over to Bob and Helen's for Happy Hour. I joined them after the race. Took Snoopy for a long walk down to Coyote Ridge. Had Trader Joe's soup and salad for dinner.

| A lot of wind and rain over night with a low temperature of 53 degrees and a high today of 69 degrees. We ordered some tamales from the Imperial Date Gardens yesterday and went there about 1:00 PM to pick them up. While we were there there was a tour starting so we went on it. We learned some interesting things. The first date palms were brought to the United States in 1927 when they were being threatened by disease in Morocco. The first in the Bard Valley was in 1944. Most of the trees are female that bear the fruit. Mature trees bear about 250# of dates. They are pollinated by hand from circular platforms on lifts. They have two freezers that each hold 1.5 million pounds of dates. They don't usually pit the dates, only when requested on large wholesale orders. When they do pit them, 10 workers can pit a pallet of 2,500# in about 3 hours. They ship ship all over the world. In about three years the Bard Valley will be the largest producer of Medjool dates in the world. We stopped at the post office and then went back to the motor home. I watched the Nascar Nationwide race. We had sausages, baked potatos and brussels sprouts for dinner. After dinner we watched the Olympics.

| Today was different. We had a partly sunny day today as the disturbance on the coast sent some clouds this way. Over night low was 54 degrees and the high today was 77 degrees. I had my UND ODNA meeting by cell phone this morning at 9:30 AM. We went to Yuma to get some ink cartridges for the printer and gas for the generator. On the way we stopped at Imperial Date Gardens to get some of their tamales. They were out so we ordered 6 to be picked up tomorrow. Stopped at Home Depot, Walmart and Best Buy. Came home by way of Mittry Lake. It is about 5 miles south of where we are camped. We had never been by there before. It is really nice. It is BLM land and camping is free, but you are limited to 10 days per year. Here is a link to Mittry Lake Images. We got back at 4:30 PM and went over to Bob and Doris' for happy Hour. The wind really picked up in the afternoon.
